Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate income tax returns, including federal and state filings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax projections for clients.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax inquiries, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to identify areas for process improvement.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external tax audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or EA certification is a strong plus, but candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as ProSeries or Lacerte.
- Strong knowledge of federal and California state tax codes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
