As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a critical role in our clients' financial success by ensuring accuracy and maximizing tax efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals and corporations with high complexity.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations.
- Manage client relationships, providing strategic tax planning advice to optimize financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with audit and advisory teams to resolve complex tax issues and discrepancies.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and footnotes as related to tax provisions.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes impacting tax codes and implement necessary adjustments promptly.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to training sessions within the tax department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA/MS Tax) preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly desirable; EA certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax preparation or public accounting.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Lacerte, UltraTax) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and tax codes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for client interaction.
