Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies and compliance requirements
- Manage client relationships and communicate complex tax concepts
- Utilize tax software (ProSystem fx, UltraTax) for efficient processing
- Conduct research on evolving tax regulations and state-specific NM tax codes
- Coordinate audit support with IRS and state authorities
- Mentor junior associates on tax preparation best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license or active pursuit (required)
- 3+ years of tax preparation experience
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of federal and NM state tax regulations
- Excellent analytical and client communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
