Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Lead tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes and minimize liabilities
- Manage IRS/state tax authority audits and inquiries with minimal supervision
- Mentor junior associates on technical tax matters and compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication
- Research and apply evolving tax legislation (e.g., SECURE Act, Inflation Reduction Act)
- Collaborate with audit and advisory teams on integrated client solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (Master's preferred)
- CPA license required (actively licensed or passed exam)
- 5+ years of progressive tax preparation experience in public accounting
- Advanced proficiency in tax software (ProSystem fx, CCH, or Lacerte)
- Expert knowledge of S-Corp, partnership, and multi-state taxation
- Proven ability to manage high-stakes client relationships
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
