Responsibilities
- Prepare complex federal, state, and international tax returns for corporate and individual clients
- Lead tax compliance engagements and IRS audit support
- Develop tax planning strategies to minimize client liabilities
- Manage junior staff and review deliverables for accuracy
- Utilize tax software (Lacerte, ProSystem fx) and data analytics tools
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication
- Stay current on tax legislation changes (TCJA, Inflation Reduction Act)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Deep expertise in energy sector tax regulations
- Proficient in tax research tools (CCH, Wolters Kluwer)
- Strong Excel and data visualization skills (Power BI)
- Exceptional communication and client management abilities
- Texas CPA license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
