Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies, including M&A transactions, international taxation, and wealth preservation
- Lead IRS audit defense and state tax controversy engagements
- Develop and implement tax technology solutions to enhance client service delivery
- Mentor junior associates while maintaining quality control over deliverables
- Identify new business opportunities through proactive client relationship management
Qualifications
- CPA license or active CPA candidate with significant tax experience
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience with Big 4 or regional firm
- Advanced knowledge of IRS code sections 1031, 121, and 4684
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or CCH Axcess)
- Experience managing tax compliance for multi-state entities
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
