Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance reports in strict accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to guarantee accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies immediately.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and assist department heads with financial forecasting.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA certification is a strong plus but not mandatory for experienced candidates.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 50, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
