In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. You will be the guardian of our financial data, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily general ledger entries and perform month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct internal audits and review financial reports to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Support the tax department in the preparation of federal and state tax returns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency.
- Maintain and organize financial documentation and records for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
