Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable processing.
- Compliance & Tax: Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with GAAP and local San Diego, CA regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current financial workflows and implement automated solutions to streamline operations.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including variance analysis and financial forecasting.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) are mandatory.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fully remote environment.
