Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries and month-end close procedures.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the full cycle of A/P and A/R, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and vendor/client satisfaction.
- Compliance & Tax: Assist with federal, state, and local tax filings and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and provide insightful financial forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
- Auditing: Prepare documentation and records for internal and external audits, ensuring a seamless audit process.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar ERP systems; expert level in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and tax regulations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment.
