Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations including month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee VAT submissions, tax compliance, and HMRC interactions for UK-based entities
- Lead budget forecasting processes and variance analysis for departmental heads
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize financial workflows using Xero/QuickBooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic financial initiatives and cost optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in UK corporate accounting or public practice
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage accounting software
- Expert knowledge of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and FRS 102 standards
- Proven track record in process improvement and financial system implementation
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
