Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse workforce of over 500 employees on a bi-weekly cycle using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Prepare and file all necessary federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including 941, W-2s, and state reconciliation reports.
  • Review timekeeping data for accuracy, ensuring proper classification of exempt/non-exempt hours and accurate calculation of overtime.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to payroll-related questions from employees and management regarding pay stubs, deductions, and tax forms.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR department to update employee demographic information, tax status changes, and new hire documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure compliance with FLSA and GA labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and assist in the month-end close process by reconciling payroll expenses to the general ledger.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
  • Expert proficiency in payroll software, specifically ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations (FICA, FUTA, SUTA), and FLSA compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an exceptional eye for detail to ensure zero errors in data entry.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
