Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states
- Ensure compliance with federal/state tax laws (FLSA, FICA, state unemployment)
- Manage garnishments, deductions, and year-end tax filings (W-2/1099)
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies within SLA
- Implement and audit payroll controls for SOX compliance
- Lead system upgrades and process optimization initiatives
- Act as payroll liaison for HR, Finance, and external auditors
- Maintain confidential employee records with 100% accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or 5+ years payroll experience
- ADP Workforce Now certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Expert knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros)
- Proven experience with payroll audits and compliance
- PHR/SPHR or CPP certification preferred
- Experience with HRIS integrations (Workday, SAP)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
