The Role: We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Clerk to manage complex payroll processing for our growing client base. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in our Fresno office and 2 remote days weekly.
Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll for 150+ employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations (CA, AZ, NV)
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Generate and distribute payroll reports for client review
- Manage garnishments, benefits deductions, and tax filings
- Support year-end processing and W-2 distribution
- Train junior payroll staff on system processes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
- ADP Workforce Now certification required
- Expert knowledge of CA payroll tax regulations (DE 9, ETT, SDI)
- Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and payroll software
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation a plus
- Experience with garnishment processing (child support, tax levies)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
