Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements in accounting processes and internal controls to streamline operations.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization remains compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual and interim audits.
- General Ledger Management: Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and reconcile complex balance sheet items.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed reports on budget vs. actual performance to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, or audit.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to senior management.
