Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and business plans to evaluate the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients.
- Develop and maintain credit scoring models and risk assessment frameworks to ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and manage the credit portfolio, identifying trends, delinquencies, and opportunities for portfolio optimization.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos and presentation decks for senior management and board approval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including lending officers and underwriters, to ensure consistent credit standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic indicators that may impact credit risk.
- Conduct regular reviews of customer credit limits and ensure compliance with credit policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or commercial lending.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and financial modeling software.
- Experience with credit risk management systems (e.g., FICO, Black Knight) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
