Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and market trends to assess borrower risk profiles
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos with clear recommendations for loan approvals/modifications
- Monitor existing portfolios for early risk detection and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with lending teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Stay current on industry regulations, economic indicators, and credit assessment methodologies
- Present complex financial data to senior management through concise reports and presentations
- Train junior analysts on credit evaluation best practices and software systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 4+ years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience
- Expertise in financial statement analysis, ratio calculations, and cash flow projections
- Proficiency in credit software (e.g., Moody's Analytics, FICO) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations (FDIC, OCC, and state compliance)
- Credit certification (CRCM, CMB) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
