Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial loan applications using financial modeling software and risk assessment frameworks
- Prepare detailed credit memos evaluating borrower financials, industry trends, and collateral valuation
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for risk indicators and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to structure optimal credit solutions for diverse business clients
- Develop and maintain automated risk dashboards using SQL and Excel VBA
- Present credit recommendations to credit committees with data-driven justifications
- Stay current on regulatory changes (FIRREA, BSA) and update compliance protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Economics required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of commercial credit analysis experience with regional/national lenders
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros) and financial modeling
- Credit certification (CRCM, CMB) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated experience with loan origination systems (e.g., Ellie Mae, Encompass)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cash flow analysis methodologies
- Exceptional written communication skills for credit documentation and committee presentations
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
