Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records, ensure accuracy in our reporting, and support our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and ensure timely collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in processing weekly payroll for employees, ensuring all hours and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to identify discrepancies.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the CFO in preparing tax documents and filing necessary returns.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is required; experience with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) is essential.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial staff.
- Reliability: Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
