Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile daily bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are paid on time and revenue is collected promptly.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports for stakeholders.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with tax professionals during tax season to ensure all documentation is accurate and filed on time.
- Perform monthly audits and review financial reports for discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3-5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors efficiently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial team members.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
