Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards to support executive decision-making.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure cash balances are accurate and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the full cycle of A/P and A/R processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, including sales tax and payroll tax returns.
- Payroll Administration: Process payroll for multiple entities using QuickBooks, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Software Maintenance: Maintain and update accounting software, training junior staff on best practices as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Current CPA, CMA, or Bookkeeper certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, as well as advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and resolve complex financial discrepancies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Software: Familiarity with Xero or Sage accounting platforms is highly desirable.
