Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full-cycle bookkeeping process, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, including month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Process payroll accurately and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budget reports for management review.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collections.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (advanced functions).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Experience with payroll processing and tax preparation (1099s, W2s) preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
