Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 small business clients using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements, profit/loss analyses, and cash flow projections
- Process accounts payable/receivable and conduct bank reconciliations with 100% accuracy
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal/state tax regulations
- Implement financial controls and improve accounting workflows for client portfolios
- Collaborate with CPAs during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for financial documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience with small businesses
- Advanced QuickBooks Online certification and proficiency in Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA candidates preferred)
- Expertise in sales tax reporting (CA BOE requirements)
- Proven track record of reducing month-end closing time by 30%+
- Strong communication skills for client financial consultations
- Experience with construction or retail accounting a major plus
