Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients, including daily bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and manage year-end accounts in compliance with HMRC guidelines.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are verified and paid accurately and on time.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management packs for client review.
- Monitor cash flow and provide monthly financial reporting to management.
- Assist with payroll processing and month-end close procedures.
- Ensure all financial records are maintained securely and in line with company policies.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in Accounting (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) is essential.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role within the UK.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Excellent spreadsheet skills (Advanced Excel) with the ability to manipulate large datasets.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
