We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our elite finance team in Chicago. Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee the full-cycle bookkeeping process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, credit card statements, and inter-company eliminations with 100% accuracy.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, trial balances, and variance reports for management review.
- Payroll: Process payroll transactions and manage employee benefits administration.
- Tax Support: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, including W-2s and 1099s.
- System Maintenance: Manage accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero) and ensure system configurations are optimized.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial processes adhere to GAAP and internal control policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred; Associate degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
- Certifications: CPA, CMA, or Bookkeeping certification (e.g., NACPB) is a strong plus.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
