Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for diverse client portfolios including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) with detailed variance analysis
- Oversee QuickBooks setup, maintenance, and optimization for multi-company entities
- Coordinate sales tax filings and audit preparation with external CPA firms
- Develop and implement internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies
- Mentor junior accounting staff on accounting software and best practices
- Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Pro/Premier
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros)
- Proven track record of managing multi-entity accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Virginia tax regulations
- Experience with payroll processing (ADP/QuickBooks Payroll)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in deadline-driven environments with competing priorities
