Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 client portfolios using QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) with variance analysis
- Process payroll bi-weekly using ADP and reconcile accounts
- Handle accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations for high-volume transactions
- Ensure compliance with federal/state tax regulations and assist with quarterly filings
- Implement process improvements to reduce month-end closing time by 25%
- Mentor junior bookkeepers on accounting best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with multi-client portfolios
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Excel (advanced functions)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CMA preferred)
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transaction processing (>500 transactions/month)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Illinois state tax regulations
- Experience with ADP payroll processing and sales tax compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rate <0.5%
- Ability to thrive in deadline-driven environments with competing priorities
