You will be responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping operations, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Responsibilities
- Manage the Full Accounting Cycle: Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports for our clients.
- Software Management: Utilize QuickBooks Online and/or Xero to maintain up-to-date financial records and generate reports as requested.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll and assist with year-end tax document preparation (W2s, 1099s).
- Expense Tracking: Organize and categorize expense reports, ensuring all receipts are filed and documented correctly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, accounts reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Availability: Ability to work full-time (40 hours) in our Louisville office.
