Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks and Xero, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely payment while monitoring incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all balances match and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and the preparation of payroll tax filings as needed.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably within a public accounting firm or corporate finance department.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Xero. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with complete confidentiality.
- Certification: Bookkeeping certification (e.g., NACPB) or CPA licensure is a plus.
