Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 client accounts including AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis
- Oversee sales tax compliance and quarterly tax filings across California jurisdictions
- Maintain organized digital filing systems with document management protocols
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and provide supporting documentation
- Implement process improvements using QuickBooks Online and Excel automation
- Train junior bookkeepers on company accounting standards
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience with California businesses
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Deep understanding of California sales tax regulations (BOE Form 401)
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero tolerance for errors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
