We are a leading financial services provider looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards. What you will do:
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our financial records. You will work closely with our senior management to provide accurate financial reporting and ensure all statutory obligations are met.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- VAT Returns: Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC in a timely and accurate manner.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll updates and ensure accurate deduction of tax and National Insurance contributions.
Qualifications
- Qualifications: AAT Level 4 or ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping or finance assistant role.
- Software: Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage 50 or Xero.
- Excel Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies.
