Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing finance team in downtown Seattle. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and credit card statement reviews to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll using QuickBooks Online, ensuring all timesheets and tax deductions are accurate.
- Tax Preparation: Assist the CFO with year-end tax preparations and gathering necessary documentation for external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Recommend process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and enhance data integrity.
- Vendor Management: Maintain up-to-date vendor records and negotiate terms where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero; experience with Sage 50 or NetSuite is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP principles and federal tax regulations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry.
