Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 small to mid-sized businesses using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations
- Collaborate with tax professionals to support quarterly/year-end filings
- Utilize advanced Excel functions and Power BI for financial data visualization
- Mentor junior bookkeepers on best practices and software proficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CMA preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Expertise in multi-entity accounting and sales tax compliance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros)
- Strong understanding of Illinois state tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transaction processing
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail (0.5% error tolerance)
- Professional certification (QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Xero Advisor) required
