Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll coordination
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations (including Illinois sales tax)
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Implement and improve accounting systems and internal controls
- Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews and tax preparations
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business growth initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in Illinois
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Deep knowledge of Illinois tax regulations and GAAP standards
- Proven ability to manage multi-client accounting portfolios
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities for client-facing interactions
- Experience with financial reporting software (e.g., Xero, Sage)
