Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Financial Operations: Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and within the stipulated deadlines.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledgers to maintain financial integrity.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports for management review.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing to guarantee timely and accurate compensation for all employees, adhering to local regulations.
- Bookkeeping Systems: Maintain and update our financial databases using QuickBooks Online and Xero, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
- Vendor & Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and clients regarding billing inquiries and payment schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is mandatory.
- Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with accounting software integration.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors, manage large volumes of data, and ensure 100% accuracy in reporting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Washington, DC tax laws and payroll regulations.
