Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger systems for 15+ clients
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow)
- Manage multi-state payroll processing and tax compliance
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles with automation tools
- Lead month-end closing procedures with zero-tolerance for errors
- Implement and optimize accounting workflows in QuickBooks Online
- Collaborate with CPAs during annual audits and tax season
- Train junior bookkeepers on proprietary financial software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive bookkeeping experience in California
- Expertise in QuickBooks Online and Excel (Advanced functions)
- Proven multi-state compliance knowledge (CA, NY, TX)
- Proficient with accounting software (Xero, Sage, NetSuite)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication for client-facing interactions
- Experience with SaaS/tech industry clients
