Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll for 15+ clients
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets) with monthly/quarterly deadlines
- Oversee sales tax filings and compliance for Michigan businesses
- Implement QuickBooks optimization strategies for diverse industries
- Collaborate with CPAs during annual audits and tax seasons
- Train junior staff on financial software best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience in public accounting
- Advanced QuickBooks Online certification required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
- Expertise in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros)
- Michigan sales tax compliance knowledge essential
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions accurately
- Detail-oriented with 99.9% reconciliation accuracy track record
