Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile bank statements monthly
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports
- Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance for 15+ clients
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems (QuickBooks Online expertise required)
- Collaborate with CPAs during quarterly/annual audits
- Train junior bookkeepers on best practices and compliance standards
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Proven experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IRS regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with construction industry accounting a plus
