Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous precision
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll systems
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Illinois state regulations
- Coordinate with auditors and assist during tax preparation
- Implement and optimize accounting software workflows
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and MS Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation a plus
- Strong understanding of Illinois sales tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
