Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and monthly reconciliations
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll cycles
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows)
- Oversee sales tax filings and compliance with federal/state regulations
- Implement and optimize QuickBooks systems for client accounts
- Assist with audits and financial analysis for strategic decision-making
- Train junior staff on accounting procedures and software
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor preferred
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Illinois tax regulations
- Experience with multi-currency transactions and international clients
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written communication for client reporting
