Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring they are posted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual VAT returns and year-end accounts.
  • Process payroll and manage employee expenses within the company.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements for clients and internal reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with current financial legislation and internal company policies.

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 4 qualification (ACCA/CIMA qualified is a plus).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Proficiency in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage).
  • Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
