Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile complex accounting records across 15+ client portfolios
- Process monthly payroll and manage VAT submissions via HMRC systems
- Prepare management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and cash flow forecasting
- Implement and optimise Xero-based accounting workflows
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during compliance reviews
- Mentor junior staff on accounting best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' UK bookkeeping experience with ACCA/CIMA qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, Sage 50, and Excel with macros
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation (Making Tax Digital compliant)
- Experience managing multi-currency transactions and international clients
- Proven track record in implementing cloud accounting solutions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail down to £0.01
- Ability to work under pressure during month-end closes
