Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional departments to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
