The Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the accuracy of financial reporting, managing complex accounts, and ensuring compliance with all local and federal regulations. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and optimizing our internal financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Reconciliation: Perform detailed bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved immediately.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate calculations for hourly and salaried employees, adhering to Oregon labor laws.
- Audit Preparation: Assist external auditors and internal compliance teams during annual audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows and implement software solutions (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to streamline operations.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations to ensure the company remains compliant.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting firm setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
