Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily financial operations, including general ledger reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Conduct internal audits and implement controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training on accounting best practices and software usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it clearly.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
