Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for stakeholders and executive leadership
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and maintain accurate general ledgers
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX regulations, and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Lead process improvement projects to enhance financial reporting efficiency
- Mentor junior accountants and provide training on accounting systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting and analysis
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder presentations
- Experience with multi-state compliance and audit preparation
