Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including AP/AR, GL reconciliation, and month-end closes
- Prepare accurate financial statements and compliance reports for stakeholders
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure adherence to federal/state regulations
- Lead internal audits and implement process improvements
- Maintain SOX compliance documentation and controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget forecasting and variance analysis
- Train junior accounting staff on best practices and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel (advanced functions)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and NC tax regulations
- Proven ability to lead month-end closes and manage high-volume transactions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting
