Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and conduct detailed variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of federal and local tax returns and ensure timely filings.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Monitor internal controls and company policies to ensure financial integrity.
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting for department heads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the government or corporate sector.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate status is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle).
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. tax laws and financial regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
