Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee general ledger accounting, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with DC and federal tax laws.
- Manage the budgeting process, providing variance analysis and forecasting support to management.
- Conduct internal audits and implement controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
