Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for executive decision-making
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, tax documents, and internal audit schedules
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy
- Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or corporate sector
- Expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into strategic insights
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven problem-solving abilities
- Active DC CPA license or ability to obtain within 6 months
